Previous Situation |
Customer Objectives We addressed the issue of personal hygiene liquid soap production waste recovery liquid jointly with Noale Plant Technological Development and Purchasing Manager Antonio Fugolo. Automatic filling operation evidenced rejects caused by improper dosage, wrong delivery tap adjustment and the like. Bottles were recovered by transferring the product into containers were stored for sanitation, Quality Control after Conformity certification at production lot end. Added to recovery material stage, this operation entailed high costs and 5 days for microbiological testing. Furthermore, all production lots had to be easily retrievable at the sanitation level, so the Company’s prime need was to work out a recovery system operable on operator demand to be added to the line, since bottling machinery errors could not be corrected.

|
Present Situation |
After careful examination of Co.Ind production data with GL Finishing Technical Department, we installed an initial plant the operator was to use to: • Insert bottles to be recovered into the accumulation tank • Add bottler machinery line feed by inserting the recovery lines in stead of the main feed, after reaching set tank quantity. |
|
Advantages |
Installation of the recovery plant enabled the Customer to return production lot rejects immediately to the line and prevent pollution of the product that therefore required no sanitation testing. Antonio Fugolo underscored the following advantages after 4 months production: • Increased productivity • Minimised rejects • Zeroed lot re-qualification costs and timing
